Safaricom has established The Safaricom Academy. This institution will provide entrepreneurial talent with certified qualifications and experiential training in collaboration with established academic institutions.

Its first program is the Master's Certificate in Telecommunications Innovation delivered through a collaborative effort with Strathmore University.....


MSc. TID 2011/2012

Strathmore/Safaricom Academy is offering a Master of Science in Telecommunication Innovation and Development (MSc. TID) 2011/2012 Intake.

This programme is an applied computer science skill-based master's course that addresses the needs of students and entrepreneurs from various related backgrounds, e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, etc., who wish to establish businesses or build careers in the field of telecommunication.


Incubation Center

Safaricom has partnered with Vodafone to offer The Betavine Platform which provides an online lab for all Kenyans to develop, test and expose their innovations to subscribers worldwide.

An integral component of The Safaricom Academy is The Incubation Centre which will enable entrepreneurs to conduct their R&D development in a professional, friendly and supportive atmosphere, while receiving the guidance that they need. An incubation centre that will have a capacity of more than 60 developers will be set up to run in parallel with this program to.......


Course Delivery

The course will be run both on a Full Time and Part Time basis.
Full Time: Full Time students will be expected to attend classes on a full-time basis for the first 4 modules. Modules 5 and 6 will be offered on a part-time basis only.
Part Time: Part Time students will attend classes on evenings and Saturdays for all six modules.

The course begins on 2nd May 2011.
